Soft Touch AB and Heidelberg Materials in a unique collaboration
For a number of years, Soft Touch AB has helped and provided a number of large distributors throughout Europe with support when it comes to consulting and developing their own brands, so-called private brands, on gloves. New for Soft Touch is an extended service where the company also stocks the products for the customer. For the customer, the advantages mean that you partly cut down on the purchasing process and partly get help with keeping your own stock down.
In the third quarter, 2023, a collaboration was initiated with Heidelberg Material Precast Abetong to create their own brand of gloves.
“The reason for this is very simple: We have too high a consumption and want to buy directly from manufacturers” says Andreas Engdahl, purchasing manager Heidelberg Materials Precast Abetong.
“For us as a company, it is an exciting project as we now collaborate directly with the industry and not via distributors. The routines for producing private brand gloves however, are the same and something we have worked with for many years” says Michael Cederkvist, CEO of Soft Touch AB.
The project began by determining which models are used at Heidelberg Materials Precast Abetong and after 2-3 months of testing, a basic range was decided which was then manufactured under its own brand.
“This project has several dimensions as we now ensure that we get the right gloves with the right type of protection and following existing rules and regulations. A big plus is that with our own brand on the gloves we expect to reduce wastage by at least 20%” continues Andreas Engdahl.
“The gloves are now at Soft Touch AB's warehouse in Partille and will be ordered by all Heidelberg Materials Precast Abetong's factories in Sweden. We are eagerly following the development of this and expect to be able to offer this solution to more industries shortly” concludes Michael Cederkvist.
