Nomex®

Nomex

Nomex® is an inherently heat and flame-resistant fiber that won’t melt, drip or support combustion providing a superior barrier between for what’s inside from the hazards around it. It delivers superior heat, flame and arc flash protection, while providing lightweight, comfortable solutions that meets or exceeds industry standards.

Key Properties
Heat and Flame Resistance : Does not melt, drip, or ignite, offering superior protection against flames and high temperatures.

Lightweight : Despite its robust protective qualities, Nomex® is lightweight, ensuring comfort and dexterity.

Durability : Resistant to wear, tear, and abrasion, extending glove lifespan in harsh environments.

Chemical Resistance : Provides moderate resistance to some acids and alkalis.

Limitations
Cost : More expensive than traditional heat-resistant materials like leather.

Limited Cut Resistance : Does not offer the same level of cut protection as materials like Kevlar®.

Chemical Resistance : Provides only moderate resistance to many aggressive chemicals; chemical resistant gloves may be required for handling hazardous substances.

Applications
Firefighting Gloves : Provides thermal protection against flames and radiant heat.

Industrial Heat-Resistant Gloves : Used in foundries, welding, and high-heat environments for protection from hot surfaces and sparks.

Aerospace and Military Gloves : Protects personnel in high-risk operations where fire and heat exposure are common.

Electrical Gloves : Offers non-conductive properties for additional safety in electrical work.
