Spandex

Spandex

Spandex is a synthetic, durable fibre made of polyurethane (see PU). Spandex has unique elastic properties and can expand up to 600% and spring back without losing its integrity.

Key Properties

Elasticity: Can stretch up to 500% of its original size and return to its shape, ensuring a perfect fit.

Lightweight: Adds minimal bulk, making gloves more comfortable for extended wear.

Breathability: Allows for air circulation, preventing overheating during use.

Durability: Resistant to wear and tear, ensuring gloves maintain their performance over time.

Moisture Resistance: Resists absorption of water, keeping gloves dry in light moisture conditions.

Limitations
Heat Resistance: Degrades under high temperatures, making it unsuitable for environments involving intense heat or flames.

Chemical Sensitivity: Susceptible to damage from strong chemicals, oils, and solvents.

Environmental Impact: Non-biodegradable, contributing to environmental concerns when disposed of.

Applications

Precision Work Gloves: Ideal for tasks requiring fine motor skills, such as electronics assembly and laboratory work.

Sports and Fitness Gloves: Used in cycling, weightlifting, and outdoor gloves for flexibility and comfort.

Fashion and Casual Gloves: Provides a sleek, form-fitting design in everyday and stylish gloves.
